Terms of use

Version 2026-09-15 · last updated 15 September 2026

The short version
  • Zdex is a hosting service. Every dump on it was uploaded by a user — sometimes by me, under my own account and the same rules. Zdex indexes, reviews and displays them; the service itself never touches a game.
  • What you upload is yours and your responsibility. You confirm you made it yourself, that it contains only reflection metadata, and that you are allowed to share it.
  • Notice and action. If a rights holder objects to a dump and can show they hold the rights, I remove it promptly and tell you. You can respond; if the claim is unfounded, the dump comes back. Notices without proof of standing are not acted on.
  • The data is free to use for research, modding, interoperability and education.

Zdex (https://zlogic.eu/zdex) is operated by TheHolyOneZ, a private individual in Germany ("I", "me"). These terms apply to everyone who uses the site, and in full to everyone who creates an account or uploads. By using the site you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use it.

1. What Zdex is

Zdex is a platform on which users publish reflection dumps of Unreal Engine games — files in the Zdex dump format, produced with Zircon or another dumper: class, struct, enum and function names with offsets, sizes and flags. Zdex stores, indexes, displays and converts what users upload (search index, diffs, .usmap and C++ header exports) so that others can read it. The site is a hosting service within the meaning of Art. 6 of the EU Digital Services Act and § 10 of the German Digital Services Act (DDG): the content originates from the users who upload it. When I upload a dump myself I do so as a user, under my own account and under exactly these terms — the service does not produce content.

Browsing is free and open. Uploading needs an account. The service is provided as is; I do not guarantee availability, completeness or accuracy, and I may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • One person, one account. Keep your password and API keys to yourself; anything done with them counts as done by you.
  • Give a working email address (or a Discord account with one). It is how I reach you about your uploads, including takedown notices.
  • I may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, evade limits, or upload content that gets repeatedly and validly reported.

3. Your uploads

Every dump you upload is your content. When you upload — through the site, the API, or a tool such as zircon publish — you confirm and warrant that:

  • you produced the dump yourself, with Zircon or another dumper, from a game process running on a machine you control, and you are entitled to make and share it;
  • it contains reflection metadata only: no game assets, executables, code, keys, save data, personal data or anything else that is not yours to share;
  • publishing it does not break a law that applies to you, and you have checked what the game's terms allow you in your country;
  • the game title and build label you enter are accurate.

You keep whatever rights you have in the dump. You grant me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, index, display, convert and let others download it, together with data derived from it, for as long as it stays on the site and for backups thereafter.

Because the content is yours, claims that arise from it are yours too. If a third party makes a claim against me because of something you uploaded — for instance that you were not entitled to make or share the dump — you will compensate me for the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the claim is your fault. I will inform you of such a claim and give you the chance to respond.

Uploads are reviewed before they go public. I may reject, correct the metadata of, or remove any dump at any time, and I am not obliged to publish or keep anything. Storage per account is limited; uploads beyond the quota or the rate limits are refused.

4. Notice and action (takedowns)

Rights holders and other affected parties can report a dump through the takedown form. This is how a report is handled:

  1. I read every report personally and acknowledge it by email.
  2. Standing is checked first. A notice is acted on when it comes from the rights holder or someone verifiably acting for them: a message from the company's own domain, a link to the page that shows you own or publish the game, or an authorisation from the owner. A notice that cannot be verified — anonymous, from a free mail address without any proof, or from someone who simply does not like a dump — gets a reply asking for proof, and nothing is removed until it arrives. Knowingly false notices may have legal consequences for the sender, and senders whose notices are repeatedly and manifestly unfounded are no longer processed (Art. 23 DSA).
  3. If the report is specific, plausible and the standing is credible, the dump is taken offline promptly — usually within two working days — while I look at it. Removal is not an admission that the report is right.
  4. The uploader is informed by email with the substance of the report and can reply with a counter-statement through the contact form.
  5. If the report turns out to be unfounded, or the reporter does not follow up, the dump can be restored. If it is well founded, it stays removed; accounts whose uploads are repeatedly and validly reported are closed.

Where a law obliges me to hand over information about an upload — for example to a court or a public authority — I will comply, and I will tell you when I am allowed to.

5. Using the data

The published data is meant for research, modding, interoperability and education, and you may use it freely for those purposes. Please use the JSON API rather than scraping pages, and keep within the published rate limits. Do not present Zdex or its data as endorsed by or affiliated with any game publisher, and do not use the site to harm other players or to break the law.

6. API keys and automation

API keys act as your account. Uploads made with a key are your uploads under section 3, whichever tool sent them. Keys can be revoked on your account page at any time; revoke a key immediately if it may have leaked.

7. Liability

I am liable without limit for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body or health. For simple negligence I am liable only for the breach of an obligation whose fulfilment the service depends on, and then only for the typical, foreseeable damage. Beyond that my liability is excluded, in particular for the accuracy of dumps, for what you or others do with them, and for content uploaded by users. Nothing on the site is legal advice about what you may do with a particular game.

8. Changes

I may update these terms. The version and date at the top tell you when. Material changes are announced on the site; continuing to use it afterwards means you accept them. If you do not, you can delete your account on the account page.

9. Law and contact

German law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country stay in force. The privacy notice explains what data the site keeps. Contact: the contact form on zsync.eu.
