Building, shipping, open sourcing

I'm 18, from Germany, and I write software because the tools I needed either didn't exist or were built without a single thought for the person using them. 60 shipped projects later, the rule hasn't changed: local-first, offline, no accounts, no telemetry, source open.

01Origin

The short version of how I got here

I started building PCs when I was 11. That was the moment I noticed I had a technical affinity — not because anyone told me to, but because taking a machine apart and putting it back together better was the most interesting thing in the room.

Programming came from the same place, just pointed at software. I kept running into solutions that already existed and finding them boring, bloated, or clearly designed without the end user in mind. So I rebuilt them. Sometimes because the real thing was genuinely bad. Sometimes just because I was bored. Both are still valid reasons.

“The solution existed. It just wasn't good. So I made a better one.”

Today that instinct has turned into 60 shipped projects across two brands, most of them desktop apps built with Tauri, Rust and React — encryption tools, developer utilities, system managers, Discord infrastructure, game modding tooling. Almost all of them are fully offline, store nothing in a cloud, and ship without telemetry.

Outside of code I'm in my second year of an apprenticeship as a machine and plant operator (Maschinen- und Anlagenführer) in Germany. I'm fairly reserved until you know me well — and then not reserved at all. German is my mother tongue, English is fluent.

Age 11

Hardware first

Started assembling PCs. First real proof that this was the direction — long before I wrote a line of code.

Self-taught

Software, out of frustration

Began rewriting tools I found badly built. Python and C# first, then everything else.

~2023

The Discord era

ZygnalBot and the Zoryx bot framework — my first large-scale projects. Both retired now, but they taught me how to structure something bigger than a script.

Since then

Native desktop, full time

The shift to Tauri, Rust and React. Security, privacy and developer tooling — offline by default, and the bulk of the 60.

2026

zsync.eu & zlogic.eu

Everything finally under two proper roofs. Second year of my apprenticeship, still shipping on the side.

What I actually reach for

Honest ranking. Not a wall of logos — the ones at the top are the ones I'd bet a production release on.

Core— daily drivers, deep knowledge
PHP Rust TypeScript / TSX Python C#
Strong— used constantly, no friction
React Tauri v2 JavaScript discord.py CSS HTML SQLite
Working knowledge— capable, but C# is my better answer
C C++

Things I've actually shipped

Everything below is downloadable, documented, and in most cases source-open. Newest first.

Pulled live from zsync.eu — always the current list.Project descriptions stay in English so they always match the wording on the release pages.

05How I build

Non-negotiables in everything I ship

01

Local-first, always

Your data stays on your machine. No accounts, no cloud, no phone-home. If it can work offline, it works offline.

02

Zero telemetry

I don't want your usage data. Not anonymized, not aggregated, not “to improve the product”. None of it.

03

Open source by default

Most of my work is GPL-3.0 or MIT on GitHub. If you can't read what's running on your machine, you can't trust it.

04

Native, small, fast

Tauri + Rust over Electron. 3–8 MB installers, sub-second cold starts. Software shouldn't cost you a gigabyte of RAM.

05

Free for people learning

If a tool helps someone on an educational basis, they get it for free. Donations are welcome, never required.

06

UX is not decoration

The reason I started rebuilding things was bad UX. Undo buttons, dry-run previews, and safe defaults ship in the first version.

Got something worth building?

I love open source and I love helping people. If you're learning, building something, or just want a tool that doesn't exist yet — reach out. I'm reserved until you know me, but the line below is always open.
