How To Use Backrooms: Escape Together ModMenu
BETMENU — Backrooms: Escape Together Mod Menu
by TheHolyOneZ ("TheZ") · zlogic.eu · downloads: zlogic.eu/mods/
A mod menu for Backrooms: Escape Together (Unreal Engine 5.7.4).
Fly and noclip, world ESP, navmesh routing, item spawning, entity control,
see-in-the-dark, Steam achievements — and a co-op troll tab for messing with
your friends.
Built for: Backrooms: Escape Together — the current Steam build (2026-08).
Tied to that build; a new game update may require a rebuild.
🚨 YOU MUST RUN THE GAME IN BORDERLESS OR WINDOWED MODE. The menu draws as
an overlay on top of the game, and an overlay cannot draw over exclusive
fullscreen. If the game is fullscreen you will see nothing at all. Set this
before you start — see section 3, step 0.
Do it once and it sticks.
🚨 INJECT FROM THE MAIN LOBBY — NOT EARLIER. Start the game first and wait
until you are sitting in the main lobby, then run the injector. If you inject
before the game is up, or during a loading screen, some features (ESP
especially) may not work for that session.
🧪 The Troll tab is BETA. It is the only part of the menu that acts on
another player's machine, and it could not be tested in a live co-op session
before release. If anything misbehaves — above all a friend who stays stuck
— press Reset everything in that tab, it force-releases them. Then report
it (see section 11).
🛑 Only download BETMENU from zlogic.eu/mods/.
Anything on any other site is not mine and is not safe.
1. What you get in the download
Inject-BETMenu.exe— the injector, the thing you actually runBETMenu.dll— the menu itself (loaded by the injector)README.md— the offline version of these stepsfeatures.txt— the complete feature listmain.png— screenshot of the menu
Keep Inject-BETMenu.exe and BETMenu.dll in the same folder. The injector
looks for the DLL right next to itself.
2. Antivirus — read this first
Every game injector gets flagged by antivirus. Loading a DLL into another program
is exactly what real malware does, so Windows Defender throws a false positive.
The files are not infected — you just have to allow them, or Windows will delete
Inject-BETMenu.exe the moment you extract it.
Allow it in Windows Defender
- Open Windows Security (search it in the Start menu).
- Virus & threat protection.
- Under Virus & threat protection settings → Manage settings.
- Scroll to Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions.
- Add an exclusion → Folder, and select the folder where you put
Inject-BETMenu.exeandBETMenu.dll.
If it was already deleted / quarantined
- Virus & threat protection → Protection history, find the BETMENU entry, and choose Allow / Restore.
- Then re-download or re-extract into your excluded folder.
Only ever do this for files from zlogic.eu/mods/. Never disable your
antivirus for random downloads.
3. How to run it — step by step
🚨 Step 0 — Set the game to Borderless or Windowed (required, do it once)
The menu does not work in exclusive fullscreen. This step is mandatory.
- Start Backrooms: Escape Together.
- Open the game's Settings → Video (or Display).
- Set Window Mode to Borderless (Windowed also works).
- Apply, and you're done — it stays set.
You only need to do this once; every launch afterwards is already correct.
- Start Backrooms: Escape Together and wait until you are in the main lobby. Not the intro video, not a loading screen — the lobby.
- Run
Inject-BETMenu.exe. A console window opens with the BETMENU banner.
- It shows a spinner while it looks for the game, then injects on its own and
prints a green
[+] Injected successfully. - If it says "OpenProcess failed (run as admin?)", close it, right-click → Run as administrator.
- The console closes itself after a few seconds — that's normal, the menu stays loaded.
- Load into a level and wait until you are actually controlling your character.
- Open the menu with INSERT or RIGHT SHIFT. Same key closes it.
- Nothing happens on the main menu or while loading — you must be in a level.
That's it. Tick what you want, close the menu, play.
Injected too early by mistake? Press END to unload, get back to the
main lobby, and run the injector again. No need to restart the game.
4. Fly mode & noclip
The menu doesn't pass your keys to the game while it's open, so close the menu
before you fly.
Movement tab → Fly → tick Fly mode, close the menu, then:
- W / A / S / D — fly along the direction you're looking
- SPACE — straight up
- LEFT CTRL — straight down
- LEFT SHIFT — hold to boost
Notes:
- Fly speed and Boost multiplier sliders set how fast you go.
- Flight starts and stops instantly — no drift or coasting.
- Noclip (through walls) turns your collision off so you pass through walls and floors. It stacks with Fly mode. Always fly back into open air before switching Noclip off, or you'll get stuck inside geometry.
- Turning Fly mode off drops you into a normal fall — land low first.
5. Hotkeys
- INSERT or RIGHT SHIFT — open / close the menu
- END — unload BETMENU from the game (clean exit)
- SPACE / LEFT CTRL / LEFT SHIFT — fly up / down / boost (while flying, menu closed)
6. Playing with friends — what works and what doesn't
This is co-op, so it matters who is hosting.
Works for you either way — fly, noclip, ESP, path routing, see in dark,
FOV, timescale, teleport, keep entities away, freeze entities, infinite
sanity/stamina/battery, Steam achievements.
Only works when YOU are the host — the entire Troll tab, and giving
yourself items so they stay.
That isn't the menu falling short. In this game every stat — sanity, stamina,
speed and the rest — is owned by the server, and the commands that act on
another player's screen only run when the server sends them. As a plain client
your changes get overwritten on the next network update and nothing happens on
their machine.
The Troll tab shows you live which one you are: a green [ HOST ] or a red
[ CLIENT ] badge, and it greys out the effects that can't land.
Test on ME in that tab applies any effect to your own screen, so you can
preview exactly what a friend would see before you use it on them.
Always finish with "Reset everything". Some effects — like Block their
movement — hold a player in place until they're released. That one button
restores their stats, gives their movement, aim and screen back, and clears
everything else. It's built as a panic button, so use it any time a friend
seems stuck.
7. There is no "invincible" toggle — on purpose
Deaths in this game are scripted one-hit animations. There is no health value to
pin, so a switch labelled invincible would simply be lying to you. What does
work is stopping monsters from ever reaching you:
- Keep entities away — anything that closes in gets relocated far away
- Freeze entities — they can't move, chase or attack at all
Both are in the Player tab, and both work best while you're hosting.
8. The Items list fills up as you play
Open the Items tab and the list may look short at first. That's normal, not a
bug: the game only loads an item once you get near one, so the menu keeps
discovering them as you explore. Give it a few seconds after loading in, and
expect the list to keep growing as you move through a level.
Use the search box to filter it. Two kinds of entry:
- World pickups — "Spawn in front of me", with a drop-distance slider
- Equipment — "Give to my inventory"
9. How to turn it off
- Close the menu — INSERT / RIGHT SHIFT. Untick anything you don't want.
- Unload completely without closing the game — press END. The overlay disappears and the DLL detaches. You can re-run the injector afterwards.
- Full reset — just close the game. Nothing is left running.
10. Troubleshooting
Menu injects but nothing shows
The game is in exclusive fullscreen. Set it to Borderless or Windowed
(Step 0) and restart.
Menu won't open
You're not in a level yet, or the game window isn't focused. Click the game once
and try again. It never opens on the main menu or during loading.
ESP or other features do nothing, but the menu opens fine
You probably injected too early. Press END to unload, get to the main lobby,
and run the injector again.
Files got deleted or blocked
Antivirus false positive — see section 2.
Injector can't find BETMenu.dll
Put it in the same folder as Inject-BETMenu.exe.
"OpenProcess failed"
Run the injector as administrator.
Troll effects do nothing on my friends
You're a client, not the host. Check the badge in the Troll tab — see
section 6.
Items tab looks almost empty
Normal right after loading in — see section 8.
Everything's ticked but nothing happens
The game was updated — the offsets need re-dumping for the new build.
A log file, BETMenu.log, is written next to the DLL, in
...\Backrooms_Escape_Together\BET\Binaries\Win64\. Include it if you ask for help.
11. Found a bug / something feels off?
The Troll tab especially is BETA and untested in a live session, so reports
are genuinely useful.
- Discord — via zlogic.eu
- Bug report page — zlogic.eu/mods/index.php?page=report_bug
Please include:
- What you were doing when it happened
- Whether you were the HOST or a CLIENT
- The log file
BETMenu.logfromBET\Binaries\Win64\
That log records which features resolved on your build, so it usually points
straight at the cause.
